Classes

Your child will train weekly throughout the school year. They
will work with their teammates to perfect routines performed on
stage at two annual team competitions and our annual concert. These
are usually held in Term 3. We supply all costumes.
Classes usually finish around the end of November. Refer to our
2021 Calendar of events (coming soon) and read information on
the age groups we
cater to, our training times
and the equipment
required.
Opportunities for further involvement
We encourage our members to perform in graceful solos, physical
solos and with their friends in duos, in addition to their team
commitments. Not only is it fun, it enables girls to
improve their skills through one-on-one time with a qualified
coach.
Physical solos,
duos and graceful solos
While primarily a team sport, your child can compete in solo or
duo routines with their friends. Depending on your child's
age and interest, they may take part in one to five extra solo and
duo events during the year.
Calisthenic skills program
Your child may choose to participate in the Australian
Calisthenic Federation (ACF) Skills Program. The program is similar
to the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) ballet examination system and
involves pupils demonstrating sound calisthenic technique for an
examiner.
This is a short practical exam taken every 1 to 3 years, and
only after pupils have been adequately prepared by coaching staff.
The complete range of the ACF Calisthenic Skill Syllabus
videos are available to view on YouTube. Read more on the Calisthenic Association of Western Australia
(CAWA) website.
Calisthenic Association of Western
Australia State Team
Our college is proud to have developed members who represented
Western Australia in the State team sub-junior, junior and
intermediate sections.
In 2019 the ACF National Championships were held in Perth and
our 2 junior team representatives and their teammates placed second
overall.
All members are invited to attend state team workshops and can
trial for the team. The trials are generally held in November. Find
out more on the Calisthenic Association of Western Australia
website.
Franjipani
Cup
In 2019 the CAWA offered an amazing opportunity for junior
members (aged between 11 and 13) from B grade clubs to participate
in the Frangipani Cup in the Northern Territory. 4 of our
members were selected to participate in the team. They travelled to
Darwin in September and our Imperial representatives and their
teammates placed first overall.
